Trashercise, April 14, 2012 On Saturday April 14th hundreds of local volunteers will cover over 50 miles of roadways supported by Sherriff Jeff Long, the Williamson County Sherriff’s Dept., and the Williamson County Solid Waste Dept., along with the area police and Solid Waste Depts. from the various cities involved in the project. One of the “bonuses” of participating in Trashercise (along with the exercise benefit ) is the opportunity to find “Treasure Tickets” along the route that you can take to Lawn Chair Theater in Leiper’s Fork at 1 p.m. on the same day for some fantastic drawings. Ann Johnson of Leiper’s Fork has pulled together some great prizes such as; a $250 savings account from Franklin Synergy, a private movie showing for 16 with snacks and popcorn from Franklin Theatre, eight 32” flat screen TV’s, two tickets to the Heritage Foundation’s Tour of Homes, four tickets to the Beer Tent at the Main Street Festival and many more exciting prizes from local supporters.
There will be two gathering spots for the Williamson County section of the route; one in Leiper’s Fork at Puckett’s and one in Franklin also at Puckett’s where you can get some coffee, a snack and a little light stretch before you head out for a few hours of exercise while beautifying our county roadways. There are many groups that have already organized themselves; if you’re not involved in a group but want to help, just show up at either Puckett’s in Leiper’s Fork or Puckett’s in Franklin, Saturday, April 14th at 7:30 a.m. and there will be a spot for you.
