The 7th annual Walk Across Williamson physical activity program is gearing up to kick-off February 28th. This year’s kick-off events are scheduled from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Woodland Middle School (Brentwood); Bowie Park (Fairview); Pinkerton Park (Franklin); and Harvey Park (Spring Hill).
Walk Across Williamson is a collaborative effort between the Williamson County Health Council, Williamson County Schools and Franklin Special School District. Those who participate will record the number of minutes they are active throughout the month of March. Williamson County is 90 miles wide and, while participants are encouraged to set their own goals for Walk Across Williamson, 20 minutes of activity each day will be equal to one mile. Physical activity may include participation in gym workouts, walking or running, physical education, after school activities, or spending active time with the family.
A celebration event is scheduled Saturday, April 11th from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Pinkerton Park. Participants who submit activity logs may qualify for prizes and giveaways from local vendors.
