Only two more days remain to vote early in the upcoming March 3, 2020, Republican & Democratic Presidential Preference Primary and County Republican Primary Election. The Williamson County Election Commission has five (5) locations open for the early voting period which ends on Tuesday, February 25. According to Chad Gray, Administrator of Elections, a total of 7,837 ballots have been cast (as of the close of business on Saturday, February 22nd) during the early voting period or 4.9% of the 161,073 eligible registered voters in the county. Early voting began on February 12th. Voters will choose Republican and Democratic nominees for President and Delegate candidates (if applicable). Republican primary voters will also choose nominees for local offices including Circuit Court Judge, 21st Judicial District, Division V (unexpired term), Assessor of Property, and Sheriff (unexpired term). Early voting will continue at the Election Commission Office located at 1320 West Main Street in Franklin; The John P. Holt Brentwood Library located at 8109 Concord Road in Brentwood; the Fairview Recreation Center located at 2714 Fairview Boulevard; the Longview Recreation Center in Spring Hill located at 2909

Commonwealth Drive; and the Nolensville Recreation Center, located at 7250 Nolensville Road in Nolensville. Hours at these locations are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24 & Tuesday, February 25, which is the last opportunity to vote early.

“The early voting turnout percentage has been relatively consistent with participation in a Presidential Primary, and is somewhat similar to the turnout in the 2016 primary when approximately 14,000 ballots were cast early or 10% of the registered voters” said Chad Gray, Administrator of Elections, “however, if you decide to wait until Election Day, March 3rd, to cast your ballot, you may now go to any of our 25 Election Day Convenience Vote Center sites from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. regardless of your place of residence inside the county.” The Election Commission began the transition to Election Day Convenient Vote Centers late last year after approval of the pilot project by the Tennessee General Assembly. Nearby Rutherford County was the first in the state to pilot the project in 2018 with great success.

The deadline to register to vote for this election was Monday, February 3rd. Polls are open on Election Day, March 3 from 7am to 7pm at any Vote Center location.
