[ARCHIVED] Free Home Safety Event in honor of Falls Prevention Awareness Day

National Falls Prevention Awareness Day is observed on September 23rd. This year’s theme is Take a Stand to Prevent Falls. The Williamson County Health Department, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Franklin YMCA, Franklin Fire Department and other agencies have partnered to offer a Home Safety event for older adults, caregivers, and family members. Join us on Wednesday, September 23rd from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Lowe’s on Mallory Lane in Franklin to learn what you can do to prevent falls.

At the event, seniors may participate in balance and Silver Sneakers exercise demonstrations; complete a falls risk assessment; and tour home safety stations set up throughout the store. Participants will receive 10% off purchases made during the event.

For more information, contact Patty Norem at (615) 465-5350.
