Detention is the division responsible for housing pre-trial and sentenced detainees in the John I. Easley Jr., Criminal Justice Center. The Criminal Justice Center encompasses approximately 121,000 square feet and sits on approximately 19 acres. Capacity is 454 inmate beds. The mission is Care, Custody and Control. The division is commanded by a Jail Administrator who has the rank of Captain. A Lieutenant is in charge of the daily operation of the detention center as well as compliance, recruitment and hiring. There are 96 employees from the rank of deputy to Staff Sergeant that allows the division to be a successful operation. The following sections are found within the division:
